“Creative conflicts.” “Irreconcilable differences.” “Opposing philosophies.” Call it what you want, but I suppose these would be proper phrases for the reason I have decided to leave the band I helped start just last December with bassist Jason Manning, drummer Neil Perry and guitarist Abe. A more in-depth reason would be that I believe the band, as a whole got a little too concerned about things that I felt we did not need to be concerned with just yet. The fact is I was just in it as a hobby, for the fun of it. I just don’t think any band should expect too much, especially when they yet to have any kind of a following. So the attitude of expecting more, and the tendency to burn bridges when more wasn’t given, ultimately lead me to decision I had to make.
I leave Box Jumper on good terms. Best to go now before there are any hard feelings. I wish them luck and they will continue without me. I may still join them in the upcoming show at the Players Lounge, but that isn’t final.
So what will I do now? That depends on a lot of things. I still have a lot of songs I could play in another band. I may even start up Flabbergasted again. So if you are or know a bassist, a drummer and/or have or know of a place to practice, then contact me and we’ll talk (therobshock@yahoo.com). In the meantime, there are other things I could spend my time doing, such as:
Study the culinary arts.
Become a body builder.
Prostitution.
Become the tallest midget wrestler in the world. (Maybe not.)
Spend my time reading single-pane comic strips and saying, “Get it?” out loud.
Become a Vietnamese manicurist.
Be a ventriloquist.
And at my lowest depths, become a “Novelist”.

You could try to best Clay in a beard growing competition, although he does have one hell of a jump on you.
Back to the drawing board again...
