There wasn't much from Microsoft except the obvious, ie, new previously announced games were showcased and some new games were announced, like Halo 3 (of course).
Nintendo finally showed what their Wii can do, and it turns out not that much. Oh, yeah, there's that controller thing that lets you play games in "new and exciting ways", but pretty much I'm wiggling my waggle to games that look not that much better than what we saw on the Gamecube.
The biggest shockers came from Sony and the PlayStation 3. First they finally revealed the new controller, which is nearly identical to the old controller. One major difference is that in what seems like a blatent rip off of Nintendo, the controller has a tilt and motion sensor that will enable you to control certain types of games. The game used for demonstration was the new Warhawk, where you tilt and turn the controller to turn and change altitude on you Warhawk flying ship. It actually looked pretty cool, but many a Nintendo fanboy are crying foul.
The second shocker was the announcement of the price. I was sure Sony wouldn't be foolish enough to price the PS3 higher than the Xbox 360 premium pack. But foolish they are. Sony announced two prices, $499 for a standard pack, which includes a 20GB HDD, and $599 for a premium pack, which includes a 60GB HDD. If you stop to consider everything you're getting for these prices, you almost think you're getting a good deal. Problem is most gamers won't stop to look at anything except the fact it's a game console with comparable games and visuals to the 360, but with a price tag that's $200 more.
While I was in a meeting at work, I started doodling some cartoons in response to these announcements. Mind you, I'm obviously not much of an artist, and I did only spend about 10 minutes on these, but I had some people get a kick out of them. Oh, and you may not get it if you don't frequent internet message boards and know "leet speak".
